If I connect the laptop to the dock via 3.0 usb, and plug in the hard wired data connection to the dock, will this feed the hard wired data connection to the laptop?

The idea is that you can connect the wired network connection, as well as for instance your Monitor, keyboard, speaker set etc. to the docking station, and when you come home you connect the Notebook to the Docking Station via 1 single USB 3.0 cable and everything is ready for use. So the wired network data will go thru the USB port into the notebook.
