– Make sure to have the timing standard set to CVT-RB when making the custom resolution
– Disable HDR
– Enable UHD Color on the TV
Hi Julian,
The integrated graphics of your notebook does the work also when using the CSV–3203. There are indeed Docking sations that have a Graphics Chip inside which might enable use of more screens and/or resolutions that the notebook cannot do. But again not in the case of the CSV-3203.
For normal office use 3840×2160 at 30Hz is fine. 60Hz is mainly interesting when playing games of making use of other “moving content”. If you are not really using animation / video’s, then 30Hz will be sufficient.
Please do check with Sony/Manual that the HDMI output is in fact 1.4 spec and therefore supports 3840×2160 at 30Hz.
If it does not you could solve that problem by connecting one of these Docking Stations with Integrated Graphics to make that 3840×2160 30Hz signal for you:
CSV-3103D http://www.club-3d.com/index.php/products/reader.en/product/sensevision-usb-30-4k-docking-station.html
or
CSV-3104D

Hi Gizzmo, i will ask product management to check that. But latest firmware version you received is 0x46 and that is what it shoudl ready after the update.
And more importantly … is it working for you now ?
To make sure the cable + adapters are good:
please exchange the adapter and cable from a screen that does work on the screen that does not work.
To make sure the output on the card is ok:
Please switch the adapter from the screen that does not work to an output of a screen that does work.
Good day JuJu,
Sorry but no that wont work.
A CSV-3203 is indeed a very nice Dokcing solution, but does require you to make use of the Mini-DP uplink, so if your Notebook does not have that …. it wont go.
In fact i don’t think your Notebook is capable of outputiing a higher reolution than 3840×2160 30Hz , but you can get that from the HDMI output you have directly already …
We currently do not have a solution that would enable you to run a 4K 60Hz screen off your notebook.
Sorry 🙁
Hi Palinkat,
For 4th generation Intel Integrated Grpahcis i have very good experience with this driver pack: 15.40.25.4463.
You can find it here: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26079/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-15-40-4th-Gen-?product=81496
Manually download and install (don’t let that auto-updater from Intel or Windows do that).
I know there is / are newer versions, but those did not run closesly as well as this one.
And yes liamfoneill is a bit of a pioneer with the Intel Integrated Grpahics 🙂
Anyway, in case you would need a little help setting up the cusotm resolution again after Driver isntallation…
Making that Custom resolution in the Intel Graphics Driver should be something like this …
Open Intel Graphics Control Panel, Chose “Custom Resolutions” (left bottom option) It will asks you if you wish to continue; YES
Standard the “Basic” setting is shown, click on “Advanced” , make sure you make this custom resolution for the correct screen (left bottom)
Fill in; Width 3840 ; Height 2160 ; Refresh Rate 60 ; Set Timing Standard to CVT-RB for use with TV (and for use with Monitor you can leave that on “Auto”). If possible please set Color Depth BPC to 8 Bit. and click on “ADD” on the right bottom of the window. Now this resolution I added to the system and can be chosen.
Go back to “General Settings”(left top) , it will show the basic options and here you can now choose the 3840×2160 resolution at 60Hz.
(You might need to so a reboot first)
I will ask [email protected] to send you latest firmware. I do not think the issue you are having is realted to firmware though.
Hello Herman,
We dont have a GTX1080 here to test with.
In general: i think the limit of this card is use of 4 screens as 1080p 60Hz. So resolution/bandwidth wise what you want should fit.
SInce the card natively supports 4 screens already there shold be no need for active adapters for the 3 1024p screens. You can just use a “normal/passive” one like CAC-1000 + normal DVI Cable.
http://www.club-3d.com/index.php/products/reader.en/product/passive-displayport-to-single-link-dvi-d-cable.html?page=2%27
But by all means, do check with Nvidia …
Hi lavandina,
I would say that Saphire should be able to provide that …
Hello Barryjohns,
What resolution are you trying ?
I mean i can see the standard resolution for the screen is 2560×1080 and i am sure the adapter should be able to do that. But you should also be able to do that with the HDMI and or Dual Link DVI outputs of the card directly …
If MAC OS does not allow you to choose that 2560×1600 @ 60Hz option i would recommend you to use a program like SwitchResX to make such resolution. For setups with Monitors you can leave the Timing Standard on “auto” adn for setups with TV it is best to put that on CVT-Reduced Blanking (RB).
I can ask [email protected] to send you the latest firmware, however it does not sound to me that this is where the issue comes from …
Good day Eahab,
I will ask [email protected] to send you an email
Good day,
Sorry to hear this, i will have to check with R&D for further suggestions on that “wake-from-sleep” issue. Will get back to you asap.
Hi Gizzmo, if the version did not change perhaps you already had the latest version … 0X46 …
And the firmware won’t add support for HDR
Hi Moldcat,
The updater program most certainly works under WIN10 64bit.
So the error message must have a different cause. Please connect the Adapter to the First DP ouput of the Grpahics Card (the others sometimes give problems with Nvidia cards), when more screens are connected set screen connected thru the adapter as secondary, disconnect other active deviced (such as MST Hubs, Switches and/or active cables).
Odd that the setup work firne but the update program looks to be not able te even see the grahics card …
Did you alredy try a clean driver install ?
Especially when using the upgrade feature to update drivers can give issues, because old files can remain in the registry of windows and can be “in the way”. Please make a new clean driver installation to make sure that part is ok.
When you system does not allow you to do that, you can also use a program like DDU to remove such software: http://www.wagnardmobile.com/DDU/
