Hi TheTonik, thank you for joining our forum. Unfortunately we’re no Nvidia expers anymore and don’t have a way to replicate your setup. Can you share the rest of your configuration and did you have a look at this DP audio document?

Hi Git, thank you for joining our forum. Based on the description of the issue in your post, the third, non spinning fan, may be defective. Where did you purchase the card?

    Hi Lancorith, yes you can!

The DP output on your card(s) supports two monitors in (up to) 2560x1600p at 60Hz when an MST Hub is used. Our CSV-5200 is a great solution. It enables you to connect the monitors via passive DP to HDMI (1.4) adapters.

Please note that we have not tested a setup like yours ourselves since the Ultrawide monitors, or 2560x1080p resolution is not very common. But dual 2560x1600p via the MST Hub does work.

Hi TWZ, thank you for joining our forum!
There is no need to download (displaylink) drivers for the MST Hub since there is no Displaylink (video) chip inside. The MST Hub works as a splitter as long as the DisplayPort 1.2 port on the source device supports Multi Stream Transport. No installation of drivers is needed.

Which Macbook Pro version are you using and do you know what Graphics solution is inside?

Macs are often picky eaters when it comes to supporting non Apple technologies. In this situation it may be possible that Multi Stream Transport is not supported and thus the monitors show a mirrored image, which is supported under Single Stream Transport.

Hi Onizuka, thank you for initiating this contact. Also on behalf of many users of (m)DP enabled Intel based notebooks, NUC’s etc. Our technical support team is gladly willing to work with Intel to see if there is a way to get 4K 60Hz working with their 3rd and 4th Generation Graphics.

It’s typical that our support team has not received any message from you detailing your configuration. We are aware that our adapter has compatibility issues with some (mainly Vizio) TV’s but it’s highly unlikely and unprecedented that the adapter would ‘fry the HDMI board’ on your TV.

This user published a short ‘how to’ sharing some tips which helped him get the CAC-1070 working with his Samsung HU7505 55″ UltraHD TV:

Hi DeathofChaos, thank you for your feedback. Before concluding that the adapter doesn’t do what it’s advertised to do, please bear in mind that the firmware in this (advanced) adapter needs to establish a handshake between a very wide variety of hardware. Our HDMI 2.0 adapters are the first to ship globally in volume. This is new technology, although it has been extensively tested and we wish it would work perfect in any configuration it doesn’t. But based on the feedback we get it does a great job for most customers, enabling functionality they did not have before.

At this moment many of the support questions we receive are concerning users who try to get 4K60 working on a Vizio TV. The recent firmware update for the adapter did resolve some of the Vizio issues so updating the firmware update is definitely worth a try. It’s also possible there may be other causes for the specific issue you’re having.

Can you provide us with more info about your setup? You use an R9 280X, it most likely has an mDP output. Do you use a CAC-1070 DP to HDMI 2.0 or CAC-1170 mDP to HDMI 2.0 adapter? If you use a CAC-1070, do you have another (mDP to DP) adapter in between? What type of HDMI cable are you using? Which AMD driver version are you using?

This is all relevant information which helps us with trouble shooting and finding a solution for you. Thanks!

Hi, unfortunately it is the Intel driver which is causing issues and isn’t supporting 4K60 over the CAC-1070. The firmware update for the 1070 solves some compatibility issues and updates the EDID handshake but is not resolving the Intel driver issue.

We are not sure if there will (ever) be an Intel driver update or workaround which should get devices with Intel HD 4400 or 4600 graphics to output 4K60 via our CAC-1070.

For the firmware update please send a mail to [email protected] with your name, email address and details of your setup, but please note that some users already reported issues updating the firmware (using Intel Graphics).

We get many questions on availability of the CAC-1070 and 1170. Currently the 1170 (mini DP version) is sold out. New stock is expected early february. The 1070 (normal DP version) can be ordered with a variety of resellers who carry stock.

For availability info please check the following links:

In the US it can be (pre) ordered at Amazon, new stock is on its way!

Hi Bach0183, yes you should be able to run this in Eyefinity 3. Given the resolution of your LG monitors it’s not required to have a CAC-1170, our CAC-1153 Active HDMI adapter will work as well. If you want a more future proof adapter for possible upgrade to 4K UHD panels in the future your best choice is the CAC-1170. It’s expected to be back in stock at Amazon US early february.
