My system consists of:
MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015)
Graphics Intel Iris Graphics 6100 1536 MB
MacOS Mojave Version 10.14.2
Samsung UN40JU7100F
Club 3D, CAC-1170, Active Mini DisplayPort to HDMI 2.0 Adapter
Club3D, CAC-1310, HDMI 2.0 High Speed 4k/60Hz UHD Cable 3m/9.84′
Switch ResX 4.8.0. x64
I have installed Switch ResX 4.8.0 and have successfully gotten my Samsung to recognize and display 3840 x 2160 @ 60p. In doing so I have successfully disabled SIP, and installed a Custom Resolution in Switch ResX, however with “Use simplified settings: CVT-RB” selected, thus the positive sync. box is not checked. Not sure if this is an issue.
But, the issue is that I have only muffled sound coming from the speakers of my Samsung monitor. When I disconnect from the Samsung the sound using the MacBook speakers works fine. I tried to reinstall the Samsung firmware and that did not fix the audio issue. Is it necessary for me to update the driver on the CAC-1170? Btw, I was successfully displaying 3840 x 2160 @ 60p prior using MacOS version 10.10 Yosemite. Then I upgraded to El Capitan and lost the ability to display Chroma 4:4:4.
Please help.
Thank you,
George
